We send our packages via Royal Mail 48 or DPD – so we expect them to be with you between 1-3 working days if you are in the UK (mainland). For overseas orders please allow 10 working days before getting in touch, as postal services can take some time.

If you haven’t received your package after this time, please let us know and we will investigate and let you know the estimated timescale.

COVID-19 Update: Due to the ongoing pandemic ALL postal and courier services worldwide are experiencing delays. We anticipate this to become more severe due to the pressures of December, so we encourage you to shop as early as possible this Christmas season. As of November 2021 updated timescales are around one week. Please allow 5-7 working days for your order to arrive (UK), 10-15 days overseas. 

BREXIT Update: Due to recent unexpected changes we can unfortunately no longer ship to the EU or Ireland independently. Please visit our Etsy shop to purchase from Ireland or the EU, or to send products to friends/family in these locations. 

Aura Chai was created to fill a niche in the market after we noticed there was a severe lack of authentic chai latte blends here in the UK. The best way for us to explain the difference is to compare real chai latte to powdered chai (and other alternatives like syrups and concentrates) in the same way you’d compare freshly ground beans to instant coffee. When you make chai instant, it loses its delicate balance of delicious flavours and health benefits.

Aura Chai is a whole spice, all-natural recipe derived from traditional, authentic Ayurvedic blends from India. It is free from chemicals or preservatives and sugar. Whole spices provide a warm, spicy, delicious flavour – they also stay fresh longer without preservatives. The health benefits of each spice also remain fully effective when it is prepared in this way!

Yes! Aura Chai is free from any sugar or sweetener – so it’s suitable for anyone avoiding sugar for health reasons.

We recommend adding a little coconut sugar, maple syrup or agave syrup to sweeten to taste when you brew – but it’s just as tasty without.

Sadly as Aura Chai is blended and packaged in an environment that contains allergens it is not possible to confirm that it is allergen free.

The recipe itself is gluten free, and may therefore be suitable for you if you are gluten intolerant.

Yes! Aura Chai is vegan, ethically produced and cruelty free.

If you would like to try Aura Chai with a view to stocking or serving it at your cafe or shop we are more than happy to send samples for you to taste.

Yes! The misconception with authentic chai is that it’s hard to make in a coffee shop setting, but we developed our blend to be just as easy to brew as instant powders and syrups. The only added step is straining – or serve in a teapot to skip this step.

We can come train you and help you serve an authentic chai latte your customers will love.

We use premium ingredients – fair-trade tea, organic turmeric and cacao, and we blend in small batches to keep the quality of our products high. Despite this our prices are very competitive – for coffee shops and restaurants a kilogram bag delivers a serving at just 0.25p.

Aura Chai was specially created as a chai latte blend. It will make a very strong cup of tea! For this reason we wouldn’t recommend making it as a tea. You can if you wish though of course! It is not the same as loose leaf chai tea blends, which are designed to be made without milk or with a small amount of milk.

This is one of our most popular FAQs. Yes the name is misleading/confusing, as many people associate the word ‘latte’ with coffee. But no, there’s no coffee in our chai blends. They are delicious made into dirty chai lattes though – simply add a shot of your favourite coffee!

Unfortunately our Original Chai Latte blend is not completely caffeine free, as it contains black tea. It is fairly low in caffeine however, and we plan to introduce a caffeine-free version soon. Our Turmeric Chai Latte and Cacao Chai Latte blends are naturally caffeine free ?

We use a type of black tea called ‘little leaf’, which looks like a crumbly powder. This is the authentic way to make chai latte, as Assam and Earl Grey have a taste of their own which doesn’t quite fit with the spices.

Short answer – no! However we do recommend a variety of brewing methods depending on what you have to hand. If you are lucky enough to have a Nespresso or fancy coffee machine with a milk brother, you should froth your milk every time for a creamy, authentic chai latte. If not, simply use a milk pan or one of our chai tea pots to warm through the milk on the hob and infuse the spices.

We recommend using a creamy plant-based alternative (barista-quality mylks are best). We love coconut, oat, soy and macadamia milk with our chai! If you prefer you can use whole cow’s milk. You can find brewing tips and recipes here on the blog.

Yes! Our products don’t contain any animal products or haram ingredients, although we are not Halal Certified. All products are ethically sourced and made.

Shop FAQs

If you can’t access your account, please don’t worry! There may be a number of reasons:

  • You did not actually create an account when you last ordered
  • You have forgotten your password
  • You have entered the wrong password too many times

If you have been locked out, please contact us and let us know. We can check to make sure you have created an account with us, and if so unlock your account and send a link for you to reset your password.

You can still contact us if you’re looking for an update on your order status, need help with an order or have questions for us. You can also go ahead and order without logging in to your account.

No! We use Stripe to securely process all payments. You can choose to pay with PayPal but you don’t need an account to shop with us.

We send our packages via Royal Mail first class or Hermes – so we expect them to be with you between 1-3 working days if you are in the UK (mainland). For overseas orders please allow 10 working days before getting in touch, as postal services can take some time.

If you haven’t received your package after this time, please let us know and we will investigate and let you know the estimated timescale.

If you selected tracking on your order you should receive a tracking number once your order is shipped. You can then enter it either on the Royal Mail or Hermes website to check the status of your package.

If you haven’t received your order within the timeframes detailed above please let us know straight away. We’ll chase it up for you and send a replacement where necessary.

Yes! As of 20th February 2020 we now ship worldwide. Simply enter your address and shipping will be calculated for you. Please note that shipping times vary between countries and customs charges may apply upon arrival.

Yes! We offer next day shipping services for UK Mainland. Select Next Day at checkout.

If you make a mistake when ordering please let us know as soon as you can and we will do our best to amend or cancel your order for you! If you no longer wish to place the order and it has not yet been shipped we can usually cancel and process a refund for you but due to our super-fast fulfilment system once the order has been placed in the shipping pool we can no longer cancel it. If you pay via card it will be refunded directly to the card you paid with. If you paid via PayPal the refund will be processed via PayPal, who take a small fee from the total. Unfortunately we cannot cancel the order once it has been shipped and can’t accept refunds for changed minds, as we are a small business and can only process returns and refunds for faulty items.

If the product you want is out of stock, please enter your email here and we will let you know when it’s back!

Unfortunately due to our fulfilment system we can no longer change an address once it has been added to your order. Please double (and triple!) check when adding an address as we cannot be responsible for mis-spellings or incorrect addresses. Please let us know if you do enter the wrong address and we will do our best to recall the item depending on the courier.

Refunds and Returns FAQs

Yes – but only on products that are unopened/unused with the seal unbroken in new condition, or for damaged/faulty goods.

If you are unhappy with your item or it is damaged on arrival with you, please get in touch straight away. We will then let you know if your item is eligible for refund and if so, ask you to send it back to us for a refund. More on our Returns Policy here. 

Unfortunately at this time we don’t offer an exchange service because our product range is so small. Please make sure you are sure before you buy to avoid having to change your mind ? If your product is faulty/damaged we will be happy to replace it for you!
